Empress & District Fine Arts Summer School Society
Posted on October 5, 2015 under: AnnouncementsThe Empress & District Fine Arts Summer School Society is looking for Volunteers to help move this project forward. They are looking to do a fundraiser this fall with a supper and silent auction, and than in the spring of 2016 they will be doing a production co-written by Bill Bridges and David Warrack about the history of Empress. These fundraisers are being done to help offset the cost of the summer school we will try and run in July 0f 2016. We require volunteers to help with everything from getting donations for silent auction, supper, to advertising and decorations, to promotion and marketing of the school itself. Empress Daze
Posted on July 10, 2015 under: AnnouncementsAnother busy week for Empress starting off tonight July 10th, with Ball at the ball diamonds and continuing with ball through the weekend. Saturday night there will be a dance at the Community Hall. Than we move into Monday and the start of the sturling bonspiels running Monday through Thursday. As well on Monday evening we have the 3D barrel racing series happening at Dale and Jen Howes. Along with the Sturling Bonspiel we have regular curling starting Thursday evening and running through the weekend. This is a cash spiel and we have 16 teams enterd so pretty exciting. Other events happening as part of our Empress Daze is our Businesmans pancake breakfast Saturday morning July 18th from 8-10 followed by the parade at 10:30. That afternoon has kids games going on sponsored by That’s Empressive. Check out their soft ice cream and slushies to help beat the heat. Dan will have daily lunch and dinner specials at the restaurant Tuesday to Sunday, and the Lounge will be open throughout the curling bonspiel. It’s going to be a hot one so come in and cool off by watching the sturling/curling happening in July in Empress.

As well, the Archaeology Roadshow Saturday June 6th 10 am to 3 pm at the CPR Station Museum, where you can ask the experts questions about some of the artifacts you or family members have found. As you are making your rounds remember to check out our restaurant located in the Arena, – top notch food at great prices. Come out and enjoy the drive, the scenery, the people and their stories.
