Cemetery
The Village of Empress owns and operates a cemetery southeast of the Village on a hill between the two rivers, just across the border in Saskatchewan.
The Village organizes a clean up every spring in June, weather permitting and volunteers are asked to assist the Village Public Works crew in an annual spruce-up. During the summer, the Village crew routinely maintains the grounds.
All monuments require a development permit that may be obtained at the Village office. Maintenance of monuments is the responsibility of the family of the deceased.
For further information on the cemetery please refer to our cemetery bylaw: 2018-07 Cemetery Bylaw
The website Find A Grave has a great deal of information about those interred in this cemetery, as well as many others.
