The Village of Empress

is nestled between the Red Deer River and the South Saskatchewan River, at the eastern edge of Alberta. There is a wild feel to this quaint village surrounded by expansive farms and ranches, pronghorns, coyotes and so many different species of birds. Building Permits

 

If you are thinking about building anything in the Village of Empress or changing how you use an existing building or land, you need to consult the Development Officer for the Village of Empress, who currently is also the CAO.  Also you should make yourself aware of the Village of Empress Land Use Bylaw (2013-07) which guides the development officer with your request.  If you choose to proceed the first thing you need is a Development Permit from the Village of Empress.  You may request the Development Permit application from the Village Office.

After the development permit is approved and the 14 day consultation process is complete, an approval will be sent to you.

When you have an approved Development Permit, you then need to contact Palliser Regional Municipal Services (PRMS), to complete the appropriate Safety Codes Application Forms before you proceed.  Application forms and contact information for Palliser is available on their Safety Codes webpage.
