Transportation
Students
are taken by school bus to either Acadia Valley or Oyen.
For those aged 55 and over
Oyen FCSS in partnership with Oyen & District Handi-Bus Society and Communities in Action successfully secured provincial funding in the amount of $242,000.00 over 2.5 years for our Rural Affordable Transportation Project.
This investment allows our 55+ residents within the Town of Oyen, MD of Acadia #34 and Special Areas #3 to have a reliable, accessible and affordable option for both local and long distance trips including medical appointments, grocery shopping, social outings and events, supports and services, connecting with other communities, etc.
Oyen FCSS is offering a transportation subsidy program based on a sliding scale. This subsidy allows for a much more affordable rider fee. This option also supports older adults to live independently for as long as possible.
Please call Oyen FCSS for more information, apply for subsidy assistance and/or to book rides at 403-664-2255.
Other options
Since the Greyhound stopped, there are no other reasonable options that I’m aware of. Be nice to your friends!
