Pot Luck Christmas Supper & Christmas Carol Sing Along

Be sure to come out to the annual Christmas Pot Luck Supper at the Community Hall Saturday December 20, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
Santa will be arriving. Everyone Welcome. Than Sunday December 21, 2014 the Empress Centennial Committee and the Family Worship Center are hosting the Empress Christmas Carol sing at 6:30 p.m. at the Family Worship Center. These are sure to get you in the holiday spirit, so come out and participate in the festivities.

Village of Empress Open House

Council moved to hold an open house for Empress and area residents on December 8, 2014 at the Empress Community Hall from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Council will be reviewing their 2014 Business Plan and the 10 year Municipal Infrastructure Capital Plan. They are looking for the communities input on priority areas to incorporate into the 2015 business plan and budgets. We encourage everyone to come out and have your say.

Public Works phone number

Public Works has a new phone number (403) 664-0670.
This new number will be the number to use for regular, emergency or after hour calls. Public Works Department will rotate on call responsibilities, and we want to be sure we do not infringe on our employees time off. Thank you for using this new number, rather than phoning employees at home. We appreciate your consideration.

Proposed Ethane Pipeline Open House

There will be an open house in the Empress Hall Friday October 24, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00, to discuss the proposed Ethane Pipeline Project and an Ethane Storage Facility located directly across the South Saskatchewan River from Empress. The proposed project will develop underground caverns for the storage of ethane. As Empress is the closest community to this proposed project, it is important to be informed about the process and possible implications on the surrounding environment. Please take the time to go out and learn more about the project and the implications to our Community.

Welcome New Village Foreman

The Village of Empress would like to welcome Joshua Towle to Empress in the Position of Village Public Works Foreman. We also wish to thank Arlene Hall for her years of service to the Village. We will continue to see Arlene around as she will continue to operate the waste transfer station.
