January Council Meeting rescheduled

Please note that the regularly scheduled Council meeting for January 2022 has been rescheduled.

It was going to be on Thursday, Jan. 20, but it has been changed to Thursday, Jan. 27.

As usual, it will start at 7:30 pm and be available via Zoom. The Zoom details and the meeting Agenda will be forthcoming the Monday or Tuesday before the meeting.

When: Monday, January 17, 2022 @ 7:30 pm

Where: Empress Community Hall, 314 Center Street

What: We look back at what was done the past year by the Village of Empress, you get to meet your new council, and discuss your ideas. As we were unable to host an open house last year, the updates will be for the 2020-2021 years.

How: The physical setup will be pretty much the same as the Candidates Forum we had back in October: 6 foot (2 metre) physical distancing, masks, and good manners. A maximum of 40 people (30% capacity).

Looking for a Volunteer

The Village of Empress is looking for a Volunteer to act as the Deputy Director of Disaster Services.  This person must be able to handle high stress.  Training for this position will be provided.

Water Restrictions Imposed

Our tower is unable to keep up with demand. Please follow the water restriction guidelines.

Nomination Day

The 2021 Municipal Election will be held on October 18, 2021.

Nominations for Councillor may be submitted to the Village Office from January 1 up until 12 Noon on Nomination day, which is September 20, 2021.

There are 3 positions for Councillor going to the vote.

2021 Summer Fun Day Camp

Summer fun day camp starts July 5-9. The girls have been busy planning and preparing for a fun packed program. Camps will be running for 6 weeks, and are free of charge. Parental consent forms will be required prior to your childs attendance at camp. Come once, once in a while or every day. Enjoy your summer!
