Summer Fun Day Camp Final Week

This is our last week of the Summer fun day camp, and this weeks theme is circus/magic and the kids are going to put on a little show Friday at the hall.

Summer Fun Day Camp

Summer Fun Day camp is running again this year in the hall. Mornings 10- noon are for the 3 to 7 year old, and afternoons from 1-4 are for 8 & up. Crafts, games and adventures for the kids. The program is free and available for kids from empress and surrounding communities.

Cemetery Cleanup

Community cemetery cleanup is planned for July 9 starting at 9 am. Hand mowers and weed whips are required. We encourage those who have family in the cemetery to join us

PROPOSED ALTERNATE METHOD OF ADVERTISING STATUTORY NOTICES BYLAW

TIME: 6:00 p.m.
PLACE: Village Office 6 3rd Avenue West

PURPOSE: In accordance with Section 606 of the Municipal Government Act RSA 2000, Ch. M-26:

The Council of the Village of Empress to consider an Alternate Method of Advertising Statutory Notices Bylaw No. 02-2018.

The purpose of the Alternate Method of Advertising Statutory Notices Bylaw is to provide for one or more methods,( which may include electronic means, for advertising proposed bylaws, resolutions, meetings, public hearings and other things referred), to ensure that the method or methods used will bring to the attention of substantially all residents in the area of which the bylaw, resolution of other thing relates, or in which the meeting or hearing is to be held.

REPRESENTATION: Oral or written comments and suggestions are invited and should be addressed to the point of proposed Bylaw. They may be made by any person or group of persons or a person acting on their behalf, who claims to be affected by the proposed Bylaw, and from any other persons whom, at the meeting, the Council of the Village of Empress agrees to hear. Written submissions may be made by the persons listed above, and must be received in the Village Office by 6:00 P.M. on May 16, 2018. Oral presentations may be made at the hearing by the persons above, whether or not they have made a written presentation.
The time limit of oral presentations is subject to the direction of the Chairman.

DOCUMENTATION: Copies of the proposed Land Use Bylaw are available for inspection by the public at the Village of Empress Office during regular office hours.
This notice is given pursuant to the Municipal Government Act.

Fire Ban

The Local Fire Department has placed a fire ban on in the Village. Surrounding Municipalities have fire bans in place. Propane barbeques may still be used, but no fire pits. Thank you for your cooperation.

Special Council Meeting

Council will be holding a special council meeting March 26, 2018 at 4:30 in the Council chambers for the purpose of passing the 2018 Capital and Operating Budgets as well as the Multi Year Capital Infrastructure Plan
