Zoom Council Meetings
There appears to be some questions regarding Council meetings being held through Zoom webinar format. Our procedural Bylaw outlines how to be placed on the agenda to speak to Council. You must provide, in legible writing, what it is you wish to speak to Council about, and present it to the office the Friday prior to the week of the meeting. A time will be allocated for you to make your presentation to Council. This has not changed since moving to a webinar format. You may attend the meeting during your time slot either in person or by zoom. If you have joined in person you will be asked to leave once discussion with Council is completed. If you have joined with zoom, you will be placed back in the gallery. Having submissions in by Friday, allows for your item to be added to the agenda. Agendas are finalized on the Monday and posted on the office bulletin board. We have also moved to include the agenda with the link to the meeting on both Facebook and our website. During the meeting, if someone would like to speak to a topic, they may pose the question to Council, and it will be up to Council to determine if they will allow it. This also is no different than an in person meeting. Spectators are there to listen to the process and discussion to understand how and why Council makes their decisions. Council has also set aside 2 hours Wednesday mornings, 10:00 am till noon to meet with the public in an informal manner.
