Controlled Burn Notification

Special Areas residents and ratepayers are required to complete an online controlled burn notification before beginning a controlled burn.

This form is available online 24/7 and is available whenever no fire restrictions are in place. If a fire advisory, restriction or ban is put in place before your controlled burn, you will be contacted to either cancel or modify the planned burn.

Municipal Road Bans (May 28th, 2026) UPDATED

Effective Thursday, May 28th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. all loading restrictions are removed, with the exception of: 

a specific oiled road in Special Areas 2 restricting bus, truck and trailer traffic to Ninety percent (90%) of authorized load limits except as allowed under the act or regulation on the following roads:

  • Local Paved Surfaced road south of Hanna described as 3 miles south of Highway 9 along Range Road 14-4 and 4 miles west on Township Road 30-4 to Junction Highway 862.
